Sending Emails


The first step in sending an email through your AddressTwo CRM is to create and save your email template. 


  1. Once logged into the CRM.  Click on the marketing tab at the top of your screen: http://screencast.com/t/hmtpsfMqTfbf.  This will take you to your marketing dashboard.
  2. In the marketing dashboard select the plus button next to the template section to open up your email canvas. http://screencast.com/t/uon4Ox9V8Gf.
  3. This will then bring you to the Template Editor / Email Canvas.  
  4. For a plain text email you can begin by clicking in the blank area and start typing. http://screencast.com/t/i1wMiJP93X4
  5. For monthly newsletters drag the content blocks over to the Email Canvas: http://screencast.com/t/rtUKGkA2i
  6. Once you have the blocks in place that form the outline of your template click on "Full Editor" to begin creating your email content: http://screencast.com/t/HWLpIcomfoZH.  With full editor open this will give you more tools to work with: http://screencast.com/t/ruLmCkgy.
  7. Highlight and delete the text you wish to edit with your own content http://screencast.com/t/FoPVxQS3.  And then replace with your content: http://screencast.com/t/WYKRXLAaE.  And repeat throughout the body of the email: http://screencast.com/t/azB5oaBI
  8. Time for graphics.  
  9. Double click on the area where the graphic place holders are: http://screencast.com/t/bxN1FQ71vf, and our Image Properties window will appear: http://screencast.com/t/ds7uiSWJhg.  
  10. The image properties window will allow you to upload your own images to your email template. Click on the Browse Library button: http://screencast.com/t/R2XDu4m7t7
  11. This will bring up your stored image library with AddressTwo.  To upload a new image to your library click the "Choose File" button at the bottom of this window: http://screencast.com/t/yzeKsO4h4.  
  12. Select the file you wish to upload to your image library and click open: http://screencast.com/t/QWlL8UGZhb3.
  13. You will now see where the image is loaded and ready to be uploaded into your image library: http://screencast.com/t/ORqY6UhG.

  16. Adjust the image size here: http://screencast.com/t/UrgDyMnjO8M7.  Note: if you lock the image ratio by clicking the pad lock it will insure the Width and the Height are proportional.

  19. Repeat for other images throughout your email template.

Creating Links:  To create links in an email back to your website/blogs/social media pages, highlight the text you wish to link IE - Click Here to go to our website.  Then click in the tool bar at the top of your email canvas the button that looks like a globe with a chain: http://screencast.com/t/UGvHkdbiVw

Ready to go?  NO!!! not yet!  Now it's time to test the email to yourself!  Why?  You should always test your email template before sending for a number of reasons.  #1 To make sure it looks good.  Test it on not only your laptop or desktop, but also open it up on your cell phone.  Speaking of mobile phones *Note: Any image you insert into your email should not be larger than 620 pixels wide.  This is the largest width most mobile phones can read.  #2 To make sure any mail merge features you have inserted into your email worked properly (http://screencast.com/t/iSP3TRtB.) and #3 is to test all clickable links in your email are linked properly.

  35. Review the template one more time for errors.

  37. Scroll to the bottom of your screen and Prepend with link to view in Browser if it is a templated email or do not select that if it is a text based email.
  38. Hit Sent to test this email to your email address.
  39. Review your test email and make sure the things mentioned above work correctly

  52. Scroll down to the bottom of your template.  For Templated emails I recommend choosing to "Prepend with a link to view this email in a browser."  For Text base emails I recommend not selecting the Prepend box.
